【The Aim】
Beppu City, the Hot Spring Resort is now developing communities through arts; Dance performed in the central district, Artists in Residence Program, etc. The International Art Festival, "The Beppu Contemporary Art Festival 2009 'Mixed Bathing World'" unfolded throughout the city has made a great impact upon the whole country.
We will hold "BEPPU PROJECT 2010 -Art, Dance, Architecture and the City-" in this year, that aim to create the Beppu way of promoting arts by providing various social experiments every year and to continue the art festival.
This project will be the first step to the "Mixed Bathing World 2012".

Fee :JPY500 and over(coupon ticket style)
You can purchase the coupon (6 tickets included) for 500 yen at ticket agencies in the prefecture, related shops or through the internet. To link this project and commercial activities of the city, the coupon ticket can be used for the festival-related events as well as commercial facilities of the central district and public hot springs during the festival.

【Contents Art 】
Art : About eight artists will stay Beppu and hold a workshop for local people, and each artists make a installation in various places in the city.
Dance:About eight dancers will perform at the vacant shops or on the street of the central district; "Machinaka Dance". It will be held for 2 days during the festival.
Architecture :Presentation of the Renovation Plan for vacant strip theater of the city and the Partly Renovated (by Mikan-gumi)
Keynote Lecture :Ms. Jude Kelly (the Artistic Director of Southbank Centre, etc.)
